The chainsaw gets its tease, but Burn brings fresh hardware to the cabin, adding “two new gardening/power tools” to the kit. Swinging them is the new lead, Alice, described as an “edgy, tortured” hero cut from the same cloth as Beth in Evil Dead Rise. A piece of lore from an earlier Evil Dead movie also reportedly plays a big role here.
A Warning for Animal Lovers
Heads up if animal violence is a hard line for you: there is a brutal dog death in this one. The dog is stabbed repeatedly, and while it is shot with a “shaky cam” to keep the worst of it off-screen, the audio does not spare you. It reanimates as a Deadite but does not stick around long. The one mercy is that the scene gets telegraphed early, so sensitive viewers have a window to step out.
